Editorial standards
Facts before publication
Stories must identify their sources. No invented quotations, interviews, eyewitness accounts or unsupported details. Two linked sources are required for newsroom publication. A source check is not a guarantee of accuracy.
Courts, crime and politics
These stories require human editorial approval. Court and crime coverage also requires review of reporting restrictions, anonymity, contempt risks, the presumption of innocence and any necessary right of reply.
AI and public bylines
AI-assisted summaries are labelled on the article. The names below are public newsroom bylines, not evidence that an individual attended an event, conducted an interview or independently investigated a story. Staff sign-in identities and the editor’s identity are not published.
- Jerry O Brien
- Peter jordan
- Michelle long
- Phil o brian
- Fergil brennan
- Olivia carolan
- Kelley mcguinness
- Gemma burns

Corrections
Reports retain their original dates and are never presented as breaking news when they are older. Corrections identify the changed claim and the supporting evidence.
Advertising
Advertising placements are separate from editorial reporting and must be identified as advertising. Reservations use date-based holds and manual invoices.
