The GAA said more than one million attendances were recorded at inter-county senior football championship matches during 2025. Its report, published on 5 September 2025, cited findings from the Football Review Committee.
The Irish Examiner also reported that championship attendances had risen by about 20 per cent compared with 2024. The figures measure match attendances, not necessarily a million different people.
