Man arrested as PSNI launches murder investigation into disappearance of Carrie Mullane
HOLD: portrait permission and legal review remain unverified.

Police investigating the disappearance of Carrie Mullane, also known as Carrie Noonan, have launched a murder investigation and arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of murder. The 39-year-old is from Limerick.
PSNI said she arrived in Enniskillen by bus on 10 October with a man known to her. They took a taxi from the Wellington Road bus depot to an address in Trasna Park at about 9pm. Police said this was her last confirmed sighting.
Detective Superintendent Richard Thornton said enquiries had not established her whereabouts and had raised serious concern that she may have been the victim of a violent crime and may have been murdered. Her death has not been established by the reviewed reports. Arrest on suspicion is not a finding of guilt.
A suggestion she travelled to Derry/Londonderry on 11 October had not been verified, police said. Anyone with information can contact PSNI on 101, quoting reference 272 29/10/26.
