Leinster have appointed Noel McNamara to replace Leo Cullen as head coach after the 2026/27 season. The Clare native is due to begin his new job on 1 July 2027.

McNamara will complete the current season as attack coach at Union Bordeaux-Bègles before returning to Ireland. His previous work at Leinster included roles as academy manager and head coach of the province’s A team during a spell between 2016 and 2021.

He also guided Ireland’s under-20 side to a Grand Slam in 2019 and subsequently worked with the Sharks in South Africa. His return brings a coach with experience of Leinster’s development system back to the province’s senior setup.
